Hi.
First of all, don't take this as a hateful or disrespectful comment. I'm genuinely curious and I would like to peek behind the scenes a little bit. Second of all, sorry for an essay.
Do you actually watch your own scenes through a VR headset? Not like "yep, okay, looks good, next", but really watch them, like your audience is supposed to. How do you work with actors/actresses? Do they know how the scene looks through a headset, or is it just up to the director to guide them?
There are tons of studios with different quality, from terrible to excellent. The issues I noticed range from image quality (I understand not everyone can afford that expensive hardware but some are pure trash even for cardboard standards), to lighting, weird angles, and even wrong approaches from guys/girls/directors.
I'm not naive, everything is about profit, this industry is not an exception, but it's a huge difference when the studio is trying to make it right and actually pay attention to its results.
I'm into porn for many, many years, and I never ever had such strong urges to say my opinions about anything related to this industry out loud. VR changed it. It stands for virtual reality, and it has so much potential, and I have seen plenty of scenes which were shot like flat films (this approach is entirely wrong for VR) or the producer was absolutely ignorant and doesn't give a shit about its final result.
I'm not talking about some specific genre or scene setup. In this case I don't care if it is BG/GG/solo/group, shower, garden, bedroom, POV, non-POV, etc... I like this, you like that, it doesn't matter at all, because it's about VR.
And VR is not flat, details matter. For example, as I mentioned lighting, what works in flat could be entirely wrong in VR. Distance from camera, like actual capabilities of hardware, when too close makes us cross-eyed weirdos, or too far could be not sharp enough or even blurred. Well-centered position matters as well, maybe even more than you think. Camera angles. Weird factor is camera movement and possible motion sickness. Performance by itself, some weirdos (mostly guys) act like they are the main character, wrong (except it's about non-POV, then it is quite right), it should be immersive and entertaining for viewers.
So, back to the question. Do you watch your content via VR headset?
Kudos to those who really pay attention and actually want to bring us great experiences and hope for others.
