Hey everyone!
We've got something great to share — Watch Party (Multiuser) is now live in Hyper app. Watch your favourite VR content with company, perfectly synced, in real time. Same scene, same moment.
The Host controls playback — play, pause, seek, and everyone in the room follows.
✅ Prerequisites
You must be logged in to your SLR account. Watch Party won't work without authentication.
🚀 How to Get Started
- Install the latest Hyper app from the Meta store
- Open SLR in in-app browser
- Log in to your SLR account
- After logging in, click "Watch Party" at the bottom-right of the grid, next to the navigation bar.
🏠 Creating & Joining a Room
Create a Room
- Click Create to start a new session
- You automatically become the Host and get a 6-digit room code to share with whoever you're inviting
Join a Room
- Get the 6-digit room code from the Host
- Enter it in the input field and click Join
👑 Host Controls
Remove a participant — click the ✕ next to their name in the guest list
Show your controller/hand to guests — enable the "wand" button next to your nickname in the guest list
Share the room code — use the "Copy room code" button at the top of the panel
🎮 UI Tips
Toggle the panel — click the Watch Party button again at any time to hide/show the side panel
Reset your view — hold the Oculus button on your controller for 5 seconds to recenter the dome
⚠️ Known Limitation — No In-App Voice (Yet)
In-app audio isn't supported yet. For voice while watching, join the SLR Discord server and use one of the #Watch Party voice channels — keeps things hands-free.
Voice support is on the roadmap. 🙏
