doublevr It's recommended on SLR now and supported by most VR cameras. Everyone is going to enjoy a better quality
Picouser And for all the users who do not have gold standard eye for video quality lets list some specs. 10 bit visuals can display up to 1.07 billion colors, whereas an 8 bit image can only display 16.7 million. This is 64 times fewer. Far more colors mean less colour banding Quest 3 has 10 bit panel so this works right now Only downside is 10 bit video requires about 30 % more bitrate than 8 bit. Take this with grain of salt but If you use modern 10 bit cameras as a source material (I think SLR uses) bitrate might even be lower using 10 bit vs 8 bit because of less dither (less applied noise), less quantization errors and better motion estimation.
Picouser SchnuppiLilac Thanks for being skeptical. I stand corrected. Quest 3 panel is not true 10 bit. It is "10-bit color via 8-bit + FRC" (Frame Rate Control). Cursed Meta marketing fooled me 🙁
