Thank you for doing a better job than me of showing what i was trying to put out there in words.
ableman you just need to up the contrast, dim the brightness till the girls eyes, lips and hair pop. then adjust saturation and hue to make it bluer if they are orange.
I understand that if SLR want to ruin the image quality of SLR Original or VRSpy then that's understandable as they own them and will cost them money in the long run and it's their money to burn, but to ruin the reputation by altering the image quality for the worse of 3rd party studios is IMO unforgivable and totally pointless, even the latest SinsVR scene looks shit and they have incredible image quality normally.
The thing is it might not be SLR doing these colour corrections as i am starting to notice it from 3rd party studio source files with similar issues and it may be a company that studios use to verify file compliance which colours corrects them automatically, but that's just a wild guess.
The thing is, nobody asked for this, so many changes lately that are just making things worse. The new website is at best a joke at the customers expense.
Probably the most worrying comment i've seen is that they are going ahead with the new Black Magic camera even if it looks worse than the old setup as the trade off of 16k will be worth it - What's the point in 16k if that is also out of focus but even more obvious due to the higher resolution, also the cost of storage of those files will be off the chart and probably binned due to the focus issues as something better will come along to fix the issue making those files redundant.
Look after your customers now, not five years down the line, which will probably be the timescale that 16k headsets become affordable for the average Joe.
The most important element of VR and they are happy to ruin that too - Just bizarre
... and yet they are asking for feedback on new streaming bitrate or 10bit colour - These are almost irrelevant if they can't manage to get the whole scene in focus.
There IS no point in feedback if you are going to ruin the most important element of VR and say 'It won't be perfect' with regards to BM camera focus - It's good to see they are reaching for the stars and striving for excellence lol
Anyhoo - these latest changes are killing my enthusiasm for the format... it's always a battle just when you think things are looking good they seem to ruin it.
