doublevr It's a good question. I don't think a new harem scene could ever perform quite as well as the original Dream Team. But none since have nailed the casting, and I think that is what it really comes down to. I think the themes are secondary. Yes of course, they add a nice variety and can be more creatively fun, but the thing that DreamTeam absolutely nailed was such a strong ensemble of young, natural, fit, and popular performers. That scene had literally every popular performer at that time together. To me, that's all that really needs to happen. Get the best and most popular performers (that are in the same genre) and put them in a hot scene, without over-acting, with good picture quality/lighting and positions, without crazy distractions, and you are golden.
From a directing / action perspective, I actually think the "Euro Harem Bordello Trials" was filmed better than Dream Team. The actions and coordination between the models were better than Dream Team. Dream Team got a bit too rowdy at some points. But Dream Team just had a 10/10 casting. Also, I personally love European performers, but generally speaking US performers seem more popular on this platform.
I think the "Innocent Harem" was directed well, but had some color / lighting issues that made the picture quality a bit rough. Also, I think the casting was a little too broad. There were many "types" of women which could alienate some viewers. Also, it released a month apart from the Milf Yoga Harem, so I think both negatively impacted each other.
It's hard to say though, based on just likes. Sometimes one popular star can garner thousands of likes just because they exist in a scene. But from a harem perspective, and someone who has watched all of them with every studio for the past 10 years, I can tell you with all sincerity that the SLR harems have been the cream of the crop. While so many other harem scenes end up being pure spectacle with no substance and just a frustrating chaotic experience to watch, SLR harems have become the staple of how a harem should be filmed. For my tastes, anyways.
But what I can tell you is that putting aside likes / performance, I feel like a truly epic harem really creates a scene for the history books. They are so rare and have become a lost art. Even 2D films do not put emphasis on harem scenes anymore, whereas in the early 2000s-2010s they were everywhere! The only industry keeping harems alive is JAV, and I'm thankful for that, but unfortunately for me, I prefer European and American performers over JAV performers.
I know they are extremely expensive to produce, and I would never expect other studios to put out so many harems in a year. But I see SLR as the giant in the VR industry, and the only studio who can feasibly do somethiing like this. Even when it comes to just BGG. We get a lot of BGGs here but I'd rather we get fewer BGGs but in turn more BGGGs, and of course more harems each year. That is my wish! 🙏
PS: When I say harem, to me anything between 5-10 girls is a harem scene. Having 5-10 perfectly casted girls is better than having a mixed bag of 10+ girls.
