What are you're thoughts on the handy2

So it is coming out soon. There isn't a lot of performance information. We know it has a battery. But does it still work plugged in or is it once the battery is dead you have to wait? We know it is a bit slower then the handy. We don't know if they fixed the over heating problem. The latest firmware seems to have broken the old handy for some people. How can you downgrade firmwares on the Handy now? The app required an upgrade to 4.1 something and the handy website no longer loads for old firmwares to be restored. This new App has done nothing but told me to update even after updating. My Handy errors out constantly and only runs 10 minutes at most before starting to do it none stop. I get random stops in scripts where even with it connected it just drops out. I know there is new devices coming out soon but the way things are now I would never buy another one again. This site use to work "good enough" it had it's problems but now what I woould of rated a 8 or 9 out of 10 I would rate 2. Maybe my Handy is just defective now after having it for years. How many other people are having their handy get really hot after just a little use no matter the setting? Does anyone else just get random drops outs in scripts forcing you to constantly reconnect?

Theres a lot of information because kickstarter backers are already using the H2 and the H2P. I have a H2P that works without any issues.

You can use the H2 with a cable if you want as long as you have a 65w charger.

The H2 is not slower than the H1, it has a longer stroke range so it needs to travel longer for a full stroke... H1 and H2 have the same speed. If you get a H2P you can overclock it in settings and make it go much faster... max speed is 4 times faster than H1. The motor in the H2 is much more powerful than H1... It makes movements a lot smoother and you will feel more details in scripts.

I have had a Handy1 for 4 years and it has never overheated once, so far I have had 0 issues with overheating on my H2Pro.

The issue with reconnecting scripts is an issue with SLR/deovr app, not the handy... If you use any other website or video player you wont have this issue... Not sure why it havent been fixed yet but hopefully it will be fixed one day...

herauer There hasn't been a lot of information shared to the people who don't have it. It's great to hear someone who has it answer questions but the information isn't on the website. Maybe the reviews I have seen are wrong but none of the questions I have asked are again on the Handy website. For starters stokes per minute for the handy is listed but not for the handy 2 on the website. In reviews I have heared the handy 2 is not as fast. Keep in mind there is the Handy2 and the Handy2 Pro. They don't have the same stats. The Handy pro is listed to be 32-450mm/s. The handy is listed at 10- 600 strokes per minute. Maybe the wording is a trick here but they did not messure the amount of strokes by the same standard. 450mm/s equels 27000 mm/m which seems a bit unbelievable considering the handy was only 600.

I don't know if I would agress with the disconnecting being a problem with SLR scripts. This wasn't a problem on 3.2.3. When firmware 4.0 was introdues removed the old app. Scripts brokes from other sites as well. Other software like syncmo couldn't connect. You could claim it just needed an update on other sites. But a firmware update shouldn't be required when it breaks everything else.

Even right now the highest firmware listed on the handy website is listed as 3.2.3 still. The App tells you to update. SLR tells you to update. The website even after updating tells you to update. And the firmware no longer loads to downgrade to old firmware.

Are you using the newest firmware on the handy1? Did you use 4.0 when it was released?

mm/s(millimetres per second) and strokes per minut is not the same thing... The Handy1 and H2 has the same speed 32-400mm/s. 10-600 strokes per minut with the H1 is not with a full 0-100% stroke, they use a shorter range to get that number. The H2P speed is 32-450mm/s but it can be overclocked from 1-1600mm/s in the app.

I saw a youtube review where a guy said the H1 is faster than H2 but it is wrong. H1 have a stroke length of 110mm and the H2 have a stroke length of 125mm. If you start them at the same time from 0% the H1 will reach the top faster because it has a shorter stroke length so it will look like the H1 is faster but it is not true.

Firmware 4.0 was released over a year ago and it had issues when it was first released... Those issues have been fixed. I was using 4.X on my H1 before I got my H2P. H2 can only use 4.0 Firmware, you can not downgrade to 3.0. My H2P is currently using the latest firmware without issues. If you have issues updating your H1 join the handy discord or send the support a email and they will help you. You are not the only person that have some issues updating firmware.

Disconnects with scripts only happens when I use SLR and it happens usually atleast once in a long session with my H2P. So far I have had 0 disconnects or issues with my scripts when I use Heresphere on my H2P. If I use any other website or software that supports scripts I have no issues... Whenever someone joins the Handy discord and have issues with disconnects they are always using deovr/SLR... Whenever they try another software the disconnects stops. Some handy users think SLR is doing it on purpose to get more sells for Melody when it gets released 😃 But I think it is just another bug with the app.

herauer If there doing it on purpose there probably going to lose customers because as I said before I would of said the handy was a 9 out of 10. But with the firmware problems that I have seen from over the years And the fact there are competators now that also run on the same platform I wouldn't suguest paying for the device that cost the most.

I tried firmware 4.0 when it first came out last year and after a week I downgraded back to 3.0 and had no issues with downgrade. I went back to 4.x on my H1 earlier this year and all the old issues with 4.0 firmware was fixed.

If you want a stroker that is reliable Handy is still the best option for now. We will have to see how Melody will be and how the SLR support will be for the toy. I was going to buy SLR Melody myself but I did not want to wait any longer and got the H2P instead... too much delays and almost no information about Melody even though it should have been released earlier this year. It was a bad decision to not give us any information about Melody when the H2 kickstarter campaign was running.

herauer At the moment I would say the Solace or Solace pro is the better choice. There isn't anywhere near the amount of problems. Plus the interactive uses is by far better. I know they are trying to make the Handy compatable with some of the loveness apps like Tophy but so far Handy has nothing like it. The solace pro is almost always on sale for $200 vs the handy pros $300. I would say when it works right the Handy is better and maybe it is for most users but if you got the handy and it's past the warrenty the Solace has a lot to offer.
