Would have considered buying these but monochrome cameras make it useless for pt. And looking at the specs it will likely be no better than quest 3 for content consumption. So personally waiting for quest 4 to upgrade.

Yeah this headset is worthless for porn, no color PT. Better just use a Quest 3, or a Galaxy XR if you want better quality.

It has a camera port expansion, maybe some companies will make something for that?

A big point of the Steam Frame is that it’s yours to do with what you want, it’s a whole PC and you are free to change parts, if the headset is a success I guarantee there will be PT camera’s available in no time.

Sure, if somebody creates PT cams for it, then it will almost be as good as a Quest 3 for porn. Almost, I'm saying, because supposedly the SDE is a bit worse on the Steam Frame, supposedly because of a worse pixel fill.

not sure what you've based that on, could be true.

If you JUST use it for porn yeah you definitely don't need it and the Frame isn't made for you haha. The strong point is that it can do it all, full Linux based SteamOS PC, ability to play (and download for local use) 2D games from Steam.

I think it was Haney's report on UploadVR, but could also be on RoadToVR, I've read it on either of those 2 sites.

But yeah, i agree of course, IF you have this headset for gaming, it could be interesting to buy the PT cams (when they come out) and then use it for porn. But I would never recommend this headset if porn is your nr 1 use case, a Quest 3 would be the best choice there if you're on a budget.

Either I’m completely spoiled by the high resolution displays of headsets like Vision Pro and Galaxy XR, or (more likely) Frame’s LCD has a lower fill-factor than Quest 3’s LCD, even though they have a very similar number of pixels and field-of-view_."

harigeharry Aight thanks for the source. I haven’t heard Linus talk about this so I’ll take it with a grain of salt until it releases 😉

But yeah we agree, Q3 for adult stuff is the way to go
