First impressions:

Overall video playback seems better although I can't say why
The Cory Chase AR PT scene looked worse than before, skin too red and not like real.
In AI PT with the room as size reference it seemed that the projection is shrinking all videos a bit. Perfect scale scenes seemed undersized while old oversized scenes looked more realistic. Don't forget to implement some kind of function for scaling adjustment (like horizontal offset in DeoVR Not Hyper).

Tried it. Seems OK for a Minimum Viable Product. Missing a shit ton of features. Biggest nonstarter for me is the lack of funscript support right now.

fuccaneer Yep, it's promising for an MVP, but until there's a visible roadmap (“coming soon” doesn't seem enough), it will be difficult to promote the app or get users on board.
Unfortunately, people will tend to try it out and then never come back to it.

gjacule This is about how I felt. Tried it, seemed very bare bones like normal DeoVr without any of the features (or any of the new features from the original post from Nov '24) and just went back to the regular. I think they just had to release anything to have something to show for themselves for the past year. Still hoping for the best on this.

I already tried the app, it's still too basic, and considering it was announced a year ago, development has been incredibly slow. At this rate, it'll be ready in three or four years, by which time we'll be on the next generation of VR headsets, and it will be obsolete. Hurry up!!

db456 Im travelling, haven't been able to try the app yet, but really looking forward to try the avp app. But reactions like yours just really aren't helping anyone. If basic player functionality works, you can rotate the scene, pt works I'm happy. Of course if that doesn't even work, I could understand the frustration. anyone Sunday home again and can try the avp app myself.

just tried it. seems very similar to the beta version i tried before. Great speed and video quality but thats where the advantages end, like others said barebones and missing ton of features. just to name a few:

no transform controls
no image color controls
no user playlists
no funscript support
the ai passthrough buttons dont work reliably. like if i click "girl only" it doesnt register first click
passthrough videos dont have extra passthrough controls
no ab loops
no position shortcut buttons within videos like blowjob, cowgirl...
....
in other words yeh just like the beta and imo should have stayed beta. Surprised released in such a unfinished state which i have no incentive to use.

as I'll buy one of these 2 headsets (still waiting for steam frame review to compare it to samsung galaxy xr to make my mind :p) many thanks for all the developers behind this new vr player!

filgan i don't think there's a room for any new headset on top of quest and avp unless major currently unthinkable breakthrough comes up.

It's mostly a question of app store and features. Even for some it took 2 years after headset release to get some basic setup in place

It's all concepts and software now with dev community. Hardware itself is no brainer.
We clearly don't have resources to support every other headset out there bringing nothing to the table.

doublevr avp sells very poorly, even the new model for many reasons beside the overpriced price:

and many people wish to leave the closed, suspicious and unclear vr roadmap of meta (like me, for example)
this is why I want to invest in either an android xr or steam frame headset to have this freedom of a pc/ mobile again.

apple and meta will NEVER give you this freedom and control over your hardware/ software. that's my point and I'm sure I'm not alone with this.

yes, I understand you can't support every single headset, but I hope you'll give android xr and steamos on arm the attention they deserve. I can already see a great potential with them.
