The Handy connection issues with DeoVR resolved!

Last night, I was preparing for a date with my VR Girlfriend. I selected the videos I wanted, set up and connected the Handy, and cleared my Oculus. When I started the video, I got error messages indicating that the Handy was connected but then quickly disconnected. In the DeoVR settings, I saw an error message:

I checked the firmware using the Handy app and saw I had the latest version installed (4.0.18), which was fairly new, so I initially thought everything was fine.

I adapted to the situation by switching the Handy to manual mode while watching my videos. It worked, but nothing beats a fully synced toy with your video.

The next morning, I tried again to see if the issue had resolved itself. Unfortunately, the same error messages were still appearing.

I then downgraded the firmware to an older 3.x.x version. After testing it, everything worked perfectly. That means I’ll be going on another VR date tonight!

If you're experiencing connection issues between your Handy and DeoVR with SLR, I highly recommend downgrading your firmware to an earlier version.

Well, i'm bollocksed then, i've got an H2 Pro doing the same thing, no downgrade for me.

Yea, about that SLR, it's being doing that since i got it, but a) Heresphere works, so don't care, been rewatching all my old stuff, but better, and b) i been locktobered recently... oops!

Anyways, yea, what's up with DeoVR and Handy then,,?

InfiniteFun I will need to try the Heresphere. I use deoVR and paid for the unlimited scripts. It has been working good until a few weeks ago.
Downgrading the Handy firmware worked for me.

I have the same issue since yesterday with SLR and my H2P . I only have issues with DeoVR as usual... Works without any issues in other apps or websites.

there was a downside on Handy side. everything should be working now

doublevr with the downgrade, i was able to enjoy for a moment. After a while my Handy started to disconnect and reconnect. (frustrating) It seams to only be an issue with DeoVR connection. iPhone apps have no issues.

Issue still happening on my end. Downgraded to 4.0.15 and still disconnecting.

I can Confirm downgrading to Firmware 3 fixed the issue. I had to go to the new handy feeling website to do the downgrade though as my handy wouldn't boot into safe mode

Hey guys... Whenever I have issues with the Handy (newest firmware) I change to a BT connection. This is done by holding the bottom button for a few seconds and it slowly will blink blue. Then in DeoVR settings select it under the BT option.
It actually works pretty well. It used to be terrible, but now its almost as good as the WiFi.
And Way Easier & Faster than changing fw
