We need much more cam performers!

Im a huge fan of the livecam feature of SLR and would love to see much more performers on there!
I dont know where you source your streams but a dream come true would be a cooperation with chaturbate.com as there are the hottest girls on the net... maybe you could even contact individual girls on there and offer them a free VR cam setup or smth?

Those current streams cant have that high a bitrate, the FOV is quite low. Surely it doesnt need much more than 20mbps up?

So you are waiting for the models to save up for the camera and PC? I just presumed SLR would just loan out cams to some of the more popular models to try and jump start things.

shit's a lot more complicated than it seems 🙂
It's also not just upload speed, + most (all) these girls are streaming another 2D stream at the same time to other sites.
The connection also needs enough overhead 'room' or their stream gets choppy.
Even on my 1Gb connection I only have 40Mbps up. (Though the modem can do 200Mbps up; DOCSIS 3.0)

You need hardware that can encode in real time the resolution you record at.
4K60 h.264 is not that expensive though today. (Some) SoC's can already do that.
4K60 at 20Mbps h.264 is Oculus Go average quality. At 30Mbps+ h.264 it starts to look pretty good for an Oculus Go.

I like the live cam girls on SLR but it always seems to be the same list of girls it never seems to go by page 2, why cant SLR have at least 50 girls live instead of the usual 16-18 girls ?

Redhulk50 Cameras are custom made and super expensive, second version which is easier to produce is coming, we are installing cameras in US soon

Rakly3 but what you laid out isn't complicated its basically what I said. Enough upload bandwidth and a PC/GPU that can can handle the encoding. Guess it depends where you are in the world, but is 80/100mbps up really that hard to come by in the US? Do these models live out in the sticks?

One thing I didnt realise was that you are making custom cameras, and from the sound of it maybe a lot of software stuff do if you are doing it from the ground up. I presumed you were just using whatever the current models are using, or some other off the shelf solution, and signing them up on stripchat.

james111 Our internet isn't bad at all for consumers in Belgium, but for more then 40Mbps upload I would have to take a business package. Outside of Europe it's a lot worse for more ppl. In the USA they can't even provide fiber to every one yet.

In Australia they have fiber up to their ISP, anything outside of that is just broadband. (Just as an example)
I have better down speed from Belgium to the US servers of SLR (400Mbps-600Mbps) than most customers we have whom live in the USA. (20Mbps -150Mbps)

Within Europe I get mostly 700 - 1000

I got a VPN the other day to simulate customer connections, I was getting a whooping 70Mbps from one of their Miami nodes to a SLR Miami server. I immediately asked a refund within the hour lol
That's what they call high speed in their advertising.

I was really really surprised last year when I saw a CB cam girl on SLR camming...On CB she barely had anyone in her room and was trying to figure it out...so was kinda thrown for a loop to see her on SLR with a NICE resolution camera and trying VRcam.

FOR NEW GIRLS??? they need to know exactly what to do and what kind of camera to buy for streaming on SLR....do they also need a VRheadset? what the costs and connection needs are for this...they won't put 1000 bucks into something that is 50/50 as to working or not.
