Viewport for local content

Can you do viewport with downloaded content? I have a Oculus Go, and it skips with anything over 4K. When I use viewport to try to get higher resolution in the viewable area it's actually very poor quality because I think my wifi can't keep up. Anyway to use viewport/higher res content locally?

Short answer, no.

Long answer, it's pretty complicated. You need to slice up your video in tiles, recode and encode it, run a adaptive streaming server with predictive AI...
There's an app on the oculus store that offers viewort, but only works with their software and their servers, which cost per Mb usage and bandwidth.
