  • Starting a new VR Pron studio to make $3k/mo?

I ordered a Canon R5 II + Fisheye lens to start making VR porn with my 19 year old GF. People have been begging her to make an OnlyFans but she never did. My ex did OF & I recorded content with her for a few years, so I'm moderately experienced as a "director". We will try this full time for at least a year (making SLR content).

My question is: is there anyone with an existing studio who could give me a very rough estimate of required traffic & engagement to make roughly $3k-$5k/mo in SLR creator commissions?

I know earnings are based off of the amount of engagement your videos gets but this seems quite untransparent and so I'm just looking to touch base with any other creators on here who may have advise or who could give a rough idea about what it takes in order to make a living purely off of SLR creator commissions.

At our Peak with my ex (current GF is more physically attractive) we were doing around 20 to $30,000 a month with only fans and then it's stabilized between like 5 to 10K a month. But OF seems too saturated these days. Plus I have the money to invest in a good rig. Could even go for that $30k black magic camera after validating this hustle for a year or two.

I can't answer your question, but I just wanted to say that you should forget a lot of what you know about operating a camera for OF.

Not sure I understand that if you were making 5-10k with OF, you would like to try it here for 3K/month? Or do you mean you're going to combine both?

We just recently started publishing VR content and we're not really making a ton of money from it to be honest. That's not any of these sites' fault, though. We only publish 1 video a week (at best), and we started from absolute scratch, meaning we didn't previously have an OF following or an audience of any kind. We literally came out of nowhere and just started creating VR porn haha. I think over time we'll gain more of a following on here, but right now it's slow growth. We're going to upgrade to an 8K camera soon, so hopefully that'll help.

It’s all in your hands now, we already have great examples, and viewers will truly appreciate high-quality content.

CKStudios hey thanks for your reply. Supposed to think I'm curious about is what is the actual commission structure. It all seems very non-transparent. Almost as if as the largest decides at any moment how much to pay you. Does SLR give you any kind of clarity in terms of how much you get per what metric? I'm willing to invest big in this and go hard but it just seems a little risky when there's absolutely no clarity around how much you get paid per KPI

hashes123 I typed that via voice memo and it won't let me edit.

Anyway yeah the commission structure seems quite non transparant and like it needs a lot of trust? Is there no set rate for how much you earn for stuff?

This feels like it's something that should be more widely advertised, right now it feels like it's some clandestine undercover operation with "Top Secret" stamped all over everything. I've literally never seen anyone give a straight answer to any question regarding money, i think maybe you need to know a secret handshake to get this info from people.

HughMungus Because as soon as you publicly post how much money you are earning, there is a target on your back. It has the potential to completely change user perception of you.

If it's higher than expected, it could cause other studios to be envious, it could cause your fan base to expect more out of you because you are earning so much.

If it is lower than expected, it may cause people to assume that you are not that great 'wait why am I even watching these guys, they earn that little? They must be pretty shit'

I'm not asking for specific studio's earnings. Literally just asking for some basic info on what the commission structure is that SLR has set.

HughMungus I mean SLR should make it clear how earnings are made. Seems like they totally have you by the balls if there are no transparent rules set on this.

I have always assumed that if a member pays $X per month, a fixed percentage of that will go to SLR, and whatever is left will be divided among the creators i watch only , and each creator will get a cut based on how many minutes i spend watching their content, so if i watch 2 creators same amount of minutes, each will get 50% cut... no?

in other words, as a member I only support creators I like.. (creators earn based on watch time and minutes spent)

Creators get paid based on hours watched and downloads
